Latest post of the previous page:

Shop assistants who think they know better than you!

Just been to Curry's to buy a FreeSat receiver. We don't have a HD TV, so just need a basic SD (Standard Definition) one. I asked the assistant what models they had and explained I didn't need an HD one. Was promptly told that FreeSat was HD. I explained that only 2 channels are HD (BBC and ITV) and that the rest were SD. Was told again that FreeSat was HD. Explained yet again... you get the picture (or not, as the case may be!). Eventually had to be a bit rude and asked if he could find someone who knew what they were talking about! He disappeared, but no one else appeared. Bought one elsewhere (SD, not HD and saved about £100).

There are three fundamental questions for anyone advocating Brexit:

1. What, precisely, are the significant and tangible benefits of leaving the EU?
2. What damage to the UK and its citizens is an acceptable price to pay for those benefits?
3. Which ruling of the ECJ is most persuasive of the need to leave its jurisdiction?

same goes for broadband call centre staff.

I phoned to say my router wasn't working despite all the requesit lights showing and was told (repeatedly) that 'a fuse' must have gone in the router and there was no electrical supply getting to it. When I repeated that all the correct lights were showing on the router he said it must have short circuited and the 'leftover electricity' was causing the lights to show!!!

Grocer's apostrophes (already nominated!)
People who park a car in the middle of a space that can take two.
People who drop litter.
Loud, opinionated people (unless I agree with them :hilarity: )
People who swear in the presence of their young children.
Politicians that don't answer the question (that's 90%)
Rudeness.

that's it for now......but there's a lot more :laughter:

I wish I could agree on the McDondald's hamburgers! Their quarter pounders with cheese are a guilty weakness of mine!

I would throw in anybody who slowly ambles down busy London streets - and then stops! And I'd put in anybody who thinks it is necessary to talk on their mobiles on rush hour trains for good measure.

Why not tap them on the shoulder and ask them if they'd mind putting it on speaker-phone as you're only picking up half the conversation.....? :D

People who, in the vet's waiting room, allow their dogs to wander at the end of their lead up to other dogs to "say hello".

My dog is sitting there quietly behaving himself and you are allowing (sometimes encouraging!) your dog to distract and annoy my dog.

I will not be held responsible if he rips your dog's throat out.

Better!

Edit: Oh! and Twitter.

On a similar note, I was at the beach a couple of weeks ago. Very dog friendly at that time of year. I watched one dog chase another dog around, and MOUNT that dog while the owner of the offending dog stood and laughed. I could not believe it. I guess you may say the owner of the poor harassed little pooch could have intervened. I still thought it was incrediblly rude regardless!

Not sure I've ever come across a person walking down the street four abreast... :D

Reminded by a comment I saw on another thread - I would put in pescatarians who refer to themselves as vegetarian -especially those who then think they have the right to look down their noses at you while you're quietly tucking into a ham sandwich.

.... I think I need to stop nominating people to go into 101. Its not very nice of me!

Job advertisements that say they require an "enthusiastic" person for a "superb opportunity", or use similar language, instead of saying honestly what the job is.

I would certainly put in those idiots who think it is fun to buy the biggest legal mortars/bangers and reserve one for the last legal second to set it off.
